OHMSS Original U.S. One Sheet Poster (27x41)
In 1967 Sean Connery resigned the role of James Bond during filming of You Only Live Twice. After its release, United Artists held a meeting with Connery and persuaded him to stay on for another film for an astronomical fee and significant artistic control over the production. The film was On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Connery personally requested Bridget Bardot for the role of Tracy Vicenzo.
Eventually, the continued strained relationship between Albert Broccoli and Connery caused the star to walk off set during filming. All attempts at reconciliation by United Artists failed and Connery refused to return. In support of her co-star, Bardot also quit her part in the film. Production was halted until a replacement was found - George Lazenby eventually stepped into the role; the parts of Tracy and Blofeld were recast and filming started from scratch.
Almost 70% of the movie had been completed along with a large proportion of the promotional material including this US one sheet poster featuring Connery and Bardot.
